Plywood
Manufactured from thin sheets of cross-laminated veneer and bonded under heat and pressure with strong adhesives, plywood has been one of the most ubiquitous building products for decades.

APA rated ply:

CDX - Unsanded panel specially designed for structural subfloor decking, wall and roof applications. Can also be used for shipping crates, pallets and pallet bins, shelving, partitions, and other construction and industrial applications.

C Tight knots to 37.5 mm (1-1/2 in.). Knotholes to 25 mm (1 in.) across grain and some to 37.5 mm (1-1/2 in.). Synthetic or wood repairs. Discoloration and sanding defects that do not impair strength permitted. Limited splits allowed, stitching permitted. C-grade veneer minimum permitted for Exterior panels.

D Knots and knotholes to 62.5 mm (2-1/2 in.) width across grain and 12.5 mm (1/2 in.) larger within specific limits. Limited splits permitted. Stitching permitted. Use of D-grade veneer limited to Exposure 1 panels.

ACX For exterior applications where appearance of only one sanded side is important; underface of roof overhangs, fences, railcar and lorry linings, farm buildings, tanks, trays, commercial refrigerators, etc.

A Smooth, sanded, paintable surface. Up to 18 neatly made repairs permitted, all must be parallel to the grain. May be used for natural finish (clear sealer type) in less demanding applications. Synthetic repairs permitted.

C Tight knots to 37.5 mm (1-1/2 in.). Knotholes to 25 mm (1 in.) across grain and some to 37.5 mm (1-1/2 in.). Synthetic or wood repairs. "Sturdi Floor" Rated Single Layer Floor

Specially designed floor panel with a smooth surface for carpet and pad, with height impact and concentrated load resistance. Available with square or tongue-and-groove edges. Commonly touch-sanded.

High Density Overlay (HDO)
Panel face and back covered with hard, semi-opaque resin-fibre overlay (phenolic film faced); highly resistant to abrasion. For concrete forms, cabinets, countertops, signs and industrial tanks. Also available with skid-resistant screen-grid surface.

Medium Density Overlay (MDO)
One or both surfaces covered with smooth, opaque resin-fibre overlay; ideal base for paint, indoors or outdoors. For shelving, factory work surfaces, panelling, signs, built-in storage units. Specially manufactured MDO panels may also be used for concrete forming. Also available as an APA 303 Sliding.
